The County of San Diego is highlighting its efforts to enhance military and veterans services with a Year of the Veteran Conference Tuesday, Nov. 17 at the North Inland Live Well Center in Escondido.

The conference is hosted by the Board of Supervisors and will highlight the County’s work with community partners on veterans issues and the presentation of the first-ever Salute to Service Award.

“The County of San Diego is honored to represent veterans, active duty military, their families and caregivers who represent one-third of our population,” said Chairman Bill Horn, County Board of Supervisors. “The men and women who have sacrificed so much for our freedom deserve our assistance and attention as a County, as a community and as citizens.”

The new North Inland Live Well Center is home to the County’s Office of Military & Veterans Affairs, and is located at 649 West Mission Ave., Escondido.

Breakfast and refreshments will be available starting at 8 a.m. and the program runs from 9 to 11:30 a.m. The conference is open to the public, but attendees are asked to RSVP in advance by calling (619) 531-5555, or by emailing Haley.Paterson@sdcounty.ca.gov.

Those unable to attend in person can watch the event live online.
