County Assisting As CalFresh Enrollment Breaks Records

The County is experiencing record enrollment in the CalFresh food supplement program. As of June 1, 2024 CalFresh benefits are being received by more than 398,000 eligible people in the region, which is a 5.8% increase compared to the same month in 2023.

More than 58,000 Screened for ‘Love Your Heart’

San Diego County released its 2024 Love Your Heart Report Monday, showing the annual February public health campaign gave more than 58,000 people free blood pressure checks and potentially saved 806 people from medical emergencies like strokes or heart attacks.

County Supervisors Approve Appointment of New Chief Administrative Officer

The County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously Tuesday to appoint Ebony Shelton as the new Chief Administrative Officer. Shelton is the first Afro-Latina in County history to serve in the role. She will start her new position June 14.
