Valley Fire Survivors May Apply for Federal Aid to Help With Losses

Homeowners or renters affected by the Valley Fire in September can now apply for a Federal Emergency Management Agency grant through Dec. 15. The grants are designed to help with serious disaster-related expenses not covered by insurance such as rent, home repair or replacement, medical or dental costs, transportation or other personal property losses.

National Wireless Emergency Alert System Test Set for Oct. 3

No reason to become alarmed. Your mobile phone will emit a special tone and vibrate as it receives an emergency test message on Sept. 20 update rescheduled to Oct 3. It is part of a nationwide test by the Federal Emergency Management Agency of Wireless Emergency Alerts systems to assess its effectiveness.

Lilac Fire Damaged or Destroyed Properties May Be Eligible for Federal Disaster Grants

Homeowners or renters affected by the Lilac Fire are encouraged to register for a Federal Emergency Management Agency grant that can help cover temporary housing assistance, essential home repairs and uninsured or underinsured personal property losses. Residents and business owners can also apply for a low interest loan from the U.S. Small Business Administration.
