Flu cases are on the rise in San Diego County. Last week, 116 cases were recorded compared to 77 the week before. To date, 1,209 cases have been tracked this year, up from 733 at this time last flu season.

County Public Health Reports Increase in Whooping Cough Cases

County public health officials are reporting an increased number of pertussis cases, also known as whooping cough, in San Diego County this year. The increase is notable when compared to 2023 and is even more marked when compared to 2020 to 2022 numbers.

County Receives $125,000 Office of Traffic Safety Grant for Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety Program

County Health and Human Services Agency has received a $125,000 grant from  the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) to support its Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety Program. The program will promote safe practices for pedestrians, bicyclists and drivers’ on how to responsibly share roads and paths. The grant program runs through September 2025.
