The County of San Diego, City of San Diego and community leaders celebrated the grand opening today of Valencia Pointe, a new affordable housing development at 5930 Division St. in the Valencia Park neighborhood.
The four-level, family-focused property features 102 units, a mix of 58 two-bedroom apartments, 43 three bedrooms and a manager’s unit. The units surround a large interior courtyard with a play area and community gathering space.
Valencia Pointe is a safe, clean and centrally located place to call home for families living below the area median income. It offers families stability and a chance to improve their quality of life during one of the most expensive rental markets the region has experienced.
The project is the result of a regional collaboration between the County, the City of San Diego, Housing Commission, CRP Affordable Housing & Community Development and other community partners. Funding for Valencia Pointe includes a $5.2 million investment from the County’s $70 million Innovative Housing Trust Fund.
