Virtual County Budget Deliberations and Adoption Tuesday

The $6.4 billion recommended budget for fiscal year 2020-21 will go before the Board of Supervisors for deliberations and adoption starting at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 25.

The budget addresses COVID-19, the economic crisis and calls for social justice and racial equality.

The Board will also consider more than $181 million in additional proposals through change letters that have been submitted since the release of the recommended budget.

The recommended budget plan is part of a two-year operational plan that will help determine how the County spends its resources.

Due to the public health emergency, the public will not be allowed to attend the meetings in person. However, eComments can be submitted on agenda items. The public can watch the meetings live and request to speak via teleconference.

There may be a 45-second or more delay when viewing the broadcast online, depending on the service and your internet connection.

Submit an eComment

Those who want to submit written comments can do so through eComment. The eComments are sent to the Board of Supervisors and the Chief Administrative Officer for their review. eComments can even be submitted during the meeting.

Request to Speak

Those who want to participate in the meeting and speak via teleconference must fill out the online Board of Supervisors request to speak form before the hearing starts. After submitting the form, you will receive instructions on how to call in to the meeting to provide your comments.
