Free health and dental screenings, food giveaways, and help in applying for a variety of public assistance programs will be part of the WeConnect Healthcare Enrollment & Resource Fair on Saturday, July 13.

“What makes WeConnect unique is the variety of services available in one location,” said Chairman Greg Cox, County Board of Supervisors. “By bringing everyone together under one roof, we are expanding our reach and making it easier for residents to access services.”

The WeConnect Fair will be held from 9 AM to 2 PM at the Jacobs Center, 404 Euclid Ave., San Diego 92114. Parking is free, and the location is near the Euclid Transit Station, which makes it easy for those who take the bus or trolley to get there.

While all services offered are free, it is important that residents who intend to apply for public assistance programs such as Medi-Cal, CalFresh and the Low-Income Health Program bring documents to verify identity, income, and residence. All documents are kept confidential.

“The County and its partners will be ready to serve on July 13, and we want to make sure residents have what they need in order to process their applications when we receive them,” said County Supervisor Ron Roberts, District 4.

Linking residents with community services and public assistance programs are part of Live Well, San Diego, the County’s ongoing initiative to improve the health and safety of residents.

Partner organizations providing services include the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency, 2-1-1 San Diego, San Diego Food Bank, Intuit, San Diego Organizing Project, and Health Happens Here, among others.
