Adopt a New Best Friend on June 6

County Animal Services is waving adoption fees this Saturday, June 6, as part of California’s Adopt-a-Pet Day—giving people across the region a chance to welcome a new cat, dog or other new best friend into their home.

The County is joining CalAnimals, the San Francisco SPCA and the ASPCA in a statewide effort to find loving homes for 5,000 pets. Last year, the campaign came close, with 4,979 adoptions.

Browse adoptable pets online and visit the County’s shelters in Bonita and Carlsbad from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

County Animal Services partners with more than 300 rescue groups and community members to help every healthy, adoptable animal find a foster or forever home. Staff work closely with adopters to support a good match and a long-lasting bond.
