VIDEO: App-happy Kids Can Explore More Outdoors

Reading Time: < 1 minute

For parents, seeing their children get up and outside is rewarding in and of itself. But how do you get the kiddos to actually get up and outside? County Parks has found a way – and it involves tangible rewards.

It’s called TRACK Trails, part of the national Kids in the Parks campaign, and it lets kids and their families take self-guided tours at parks and earn prizes for tracking their adventures. The newest trail just opened at San Dieguito County Park in Del Mar, but five of our County Parks have implemented the program.

TRACK Trails gets kids fully integrated into their trek, using different senses and challenges to turn an ordinary hike into an adventure. Sign up your kids and start seeing the rewards come in.
