VIDEO: College Students Dig Up Past at County Park

During the spring, the archaeology program at San Diego City College makes use of Los Peñasquitos Canyon County Preserve as a teaching site. Students get their hands dirty and learn the skills it takes to be an archaeologist in the U.S.

“This park is incredibly rich in history.”

The park has a historic adobe ranch house that already houses plenty of history.

“We hope to keep adding to the story that they tell in the museum there,” said City College professor Timothy Gross, Ph.D. “So keep checking back!”
