VIDEO: County, City Boost Efforts to Connect Frequent 911 Callers to Help

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Vulnerable individuals with complex medical and social difficulties who repeatedly call 911 will get help through the RAP program-the Resource Access Program. Specially-trained paramedics and mental health clinicians monitor the 911 system and provide intervention to vulnerable individuals. RAP teams – overseen by the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department – consist of community paramedics paired with San Diego County Psychiatric Emergency Response Team (PERT) clinicians.
