County Offices Will Be Closed on New Year’s Day

In observance of the New Year’s Day holiday, County offices, libraries and animal shelters will be closed.

County parks will be open on Jan. 1. However, there will be no public vehicle access or restroom availability with the exception of campgrounds and neighborhood day-use parks. 

Below are holiday closure dates for the following parks facilities:

  • Fallbrook Community Center: Closed Jan. 1
  • Lakeside Community Center: Closed on Jan. 1
  • Spring Valley Community Center: Closed Jan. 1
  • Lakeside Teen Center: Closed Jan. 1. Open noon to 5 p.m. Dec. 28 – 30, and open noon to 4 p.m. on Dec. 31.                 
  • Spring Valley Teen Center: Closed Dec. 22 – Jan. 1     
  • Spring Valley Gym: Closed Dec. 31 and Jan. 1
  • 4S Ranch Sports Park Recreation Office: Closed on New Year’s Day. The sports park and parks office onsite are open.
  • San Elijo Lagoon Ecological Reserve Nature Center: Open Jan. 1.

The Department of Parks and Recreation’s reservation phone line will not be available, but customers can still make reservations online at sdparks.org.

Essential services, such as law enforcement, will continue during the holiday.

County offices resume normal business hours on Monday, Jan. 4.
