Go Play, Have Fun at Free Health Fair

Have fun and learn how to be healthy too? Yes, the two will go hand in hand at the 10th Annual “It’s How We Live!” health and wellness fair at Spring Valley County Park.

The free, family-friendly event takes place from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 25 and will feature something fun for practically everyone.

For the kids, there will be bounce houses, an inflatable obstacle course, games (bird-watching, anyone?) and arts and crafts. The Spring Valley Fire Department will also bring out some fire trucks.

Visitors can try healthy food samples, watch dance performances and martial arts demonstrations, listen to live entertainment and stroll along the various informational booths.

There will be health-related giveaways and prizes, free health and dental screenings and the Lion’s Club will be giving out free reading glasses.

The whole idea behind the health fair is to show that being healthy can be fun. The festival’s unofficial motto is “Go Play. Get Fit. Be Healthy.”

Spring Valley County Park is located at 8735 Jamacha Road. Admission and parking are free. For more information, call the Spring Valley Community Center at (619) 479-1832.
