Household Hazardous Waste Pickup to Start in Flood-damaged Unincorporated Area

Reading Time: < 1 minute

After the shock of flood damage to your home, cleanup begins. And sadly, many household items may be destined for the trash. But not all of it.

Starting Monday, the County’s household hazardous waste contractor will go out to flood-damaged areas in the unincorporated area to pick up items that are banned from landfills.

Paint, household cleaners, automotive fluids, electronics, batteries, pool and garden chemicals pose dangers to the environment and the people who pick up your regular trash.

As you clean out your homes, garages, and sheds damaged by the floods, separate household hazardous waste from your regular trash. For more information and to request service, call 2-1-1.
