If the turkey’s gone, that means Santa is officially on his way! And — that the Marines are coming to Fallbrook and Ramona airports to collect the toys you’ve donated to less fortunate girls and boys.
Collection boxes for the U.S. Marines Corps Reserves annual Toys for Tots drive have been out at four of the County of San Diego’s airports: McClellan-Palomar Airport in Carlsbad, Gillespie Field in El Cajon, the Fallbrook Airpark and Ramona Airport.

And from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Fallbrook Airpark, Marines — in full dress uniform — are coming to collect those toys and personally accept donations you bring that day. The Marines are also scheduled to hold a special collection from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12 at Ramona Airport.
That means that if you haven’t had the chance to drop off a toy to be given to less fortunate children from our local communities — or if you have been waiting to donate at one of the two special collection events — there’s still time!
Donations can include new, unwrapped toys, bikes, games, dolls, stuffed animals and just about anything that can put some magic into a child’s holiday. Pilots can fly in their donations at all of the airports.
So help put a smile on a child’s face this holiday season. And come see the Marines!
