Here is this week’s COVID-19 update from the County Health and Human Services Agency with data through June 29.
Vaccination Progress:
- Doses administered: More than 4.06 million.
- Received at least one shot: Almost 2.19 million or 78.1% of San Diegans 12 and older.
- Fully vaccinated: Close to 1.87 million or 66.7%.
- The goal: vaccinate 75% of San Diego County residents 12 and older or 2,101,936 people, with at least one dose.
- To date, 104.1% of the goal population has received at least one vaccine and 88.9% are fully vaccinated.

Deaths:
- Three new deaths were reported between June 23 and June 29. The region’s total is 3,780.
- Three women, all with underlying medical conditions, died between June 22 and June 23.
- Of the people who died, two were 80 years or older and one was in their 50s.
Cases, Case Rate and Testing:
- 84 COVID-19 cases were reported to the County on June 29. The region’s total is now 282,582.
- San Diego County’s case rate is 2.1 cases per 100,000 residents as of June 29.
- 7,107 tests were reported to the County on June 29, and the percentage of new positive cases was 1.2%.
- The 14-day rolling percentage of positive cases among tests is 1.1%.
Community Setting Outbreaks:
- Six new community outbreaks were confirmed in the past seven days (June 23 and June 29): one in a business setting, one in a faith-based agency setting, one in a hotel/resort/spa setting, one in a restaurant/bar setting, one in a retail setting, and one in a TK-12th grade school setting.
- The community outbreaks trigger is more than seven in a 7-day period.
