Board and care homes serve adults and seniors with serious behavioral health conditions who need specialized care. Though they fill a critical need, rising costs have many of these residential care facilities struggling to keep their doors open. A state grant program was recently created to help preserve and avoid closures and make some much needed property improvements.

County Accepts $44.3 Million in One-Time Behavioral Health Bridge Housing Grant Funding

The County of San Diego Board of Supervisors approved Tuesday using $44.3 million in state Behavioral Health Bridge Housing Program funds to provide more housing for San Diegans who have serious behavioral health conditions and are experiencing homelessness.
