Holiday fun for all at County Medical Therapy Unit

Holiday celebrations and seasonal events are in full swing, but for children with physical disabilities or chronic health challenges, participation is often difficult and limited. To help spread the joy of the holidays, the County’s Medical Therapy Units (MTU) host several winter special events for their clients each December, including a Holly Jolly Holiday Party.

New Affordable Housing for Veterans Headed to Mission Gorge Road

A groundbreaking ceremony was held today for the Grant at Mission Trails, a 48-unit affordable housing development dedicated to current and former military members and families. Located in the Grantville neighborhood on Mission Gorge Road, the seven-story project will have 12 one-bedroom apartments, 24 two-bedroom apartments, and 12 three-bedroom apartments.

Deer Mouse Tests Positive for Hantavirus

A deer mouse collected in routine monitoring in Cuyamaca Rancho State Park has tested positive for the potentially deadly hantavirus, prompting County officials to remind people to be careful not to come in contact with wild rodents.
