County Reports Three Non-Connected TB Exposures

The County’s Tuberculosis Control Program is working in close collaboration with the University of California San Diego, Sweetwater Union High School District and the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office to notify people who have been potentially exposed to tuberculosis (TB) in unrelated potential exposures at different sites during different time periods.

Greenbrier Village Offers Affordable Housing in Oceanside

Purple Flags Mark International Overdose Awareness Day Observance

“Together, we can,” was the theme for the 23rd International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD) and press conference at the County Administration Center. The annual event features a garden of purple flags, each one representing an overdose death in San Diego County. This year featured 1,203 purple flags, 97 fewer flags than last year.

Fighting the Fentanyl Overdose Epidemic

National Fentanyl Prevention and Awareness Day is in August, and the County is dedicated to spreading the word on the dangers of fentanyl poisoning and the precautions that can be taken to prevent fentanyl overdose deaths. The County’s comprehensive Harm Reduction Strategy includes the distribution of lifesaving naloxone and fentanyl test strips to anyone who wants them.
