VIDEO: Why Do Some Trails Close When It Rains?

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Have you ever tried to go for a hike after it rains only to find the trail is closed and wondered why?

“Some of the best trails here go next to a water source,” said Park Ranger Alex Wild. “Those trails also come with a risk because in the rain, they get flooded.”

We went out to Los Penasquitos Canyon Preserve where Wild showed us how the parks patches up flooded areas and explains why it’s so important to stay out of a park when it’s closed because of the weather.
