The California Department of Food and Agriculture has declared a new citrus quarantine in northern San Diego County and part of Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, after finding a citrus tree in the San Clemente area with Huanglongbing, a disease fatal to citrus.

More Mosquitoes Test Positive for West Nile Virus

Mosquitoes collected recently in routine monitoring in the City Heights and Skyline neighborhoods of San Diego have tested positive for West Nile virus, prompting County officials to remind people to use the County’s “Prevent, Protect, Report” guidelines to keep mosquitoes from breeding and to protect themselves from mosquito-borne illnesses.
