‘Comically’ Named Pets Up for Adoption

Comic-Con is in town and you too can be a superhero—adopt an animal from one of San Diego County Department of Animal Services’ three shelters. There may even be one named after your favorite comic character. We’re highlighting a few this year that keep in spirit of the big event.

There’s Jon Snow, a 3-month-old cat who has luscious black hair just like his namesake; Thor and his mischievous shelter brother Loki, two kittens looking to be a part of your team; and Mystique, a 3-year-old terrier who is more like a mood lifter than a shape-shifter.

Plus, County Animal Services is waiving all adoption fees for its animals on Saturday, July 23 as part of the Clear the Shelters pet adoption campaign. At County Animal Services, qualified applicants can get adoption fees waived for kittens, cats, puppies, dogs, rabbits and chickens.

While Comic-Con is only in town for a few days, adopting a pet can provide enough excitement to fill nine lives. There are so many fantastic animals waiting to be a part of your story, whether they have a name you recognize or not. So get ready for action and adventure with your new pal!
