Looking for a furry sidekick ready for action and adventure? Adopt a super pet from a County animal shelter. In honor of Comic-Con this week, County Department of Animal Service has put the spotlight on a few available animals with “pup culture” and “comical” names.
In a salute to military members and their families, County Animal Services is offering them free animal adoptions May 24 through May 26. The department is taking part in the Animals for Armed Forces special adoption event over the Memorial Day weekend.

It’s a purring, tail-wagging and hippity hopping day for County shelter animals that are now settling into their new forever homes. More than half of the 134 animals available at County Animal Services’ two shelters were adopted Saturday during Clear the Shelters Day.
