Looking for a furry sidekick ready for action and adventure? Adopt a super pet from a County animal shelter.

In honor of Comic-Con this week, County Department of Animal Service has put the spotlight on a few available animals with “pup culture” and “comical” names.

You can meet the Joker, a 3-month-old kitty looking to mastermind his way into your home; or Josie, a Chihuahua that will sing her way into your heart with her pussycat friends.

The shelter is full of marvelous four-legged characters including Batman, Batgirl, Wonder Woman, Thor, Silver Surfer, Elektra, Venom and Mystique! There are so many incredible animals waiting to be a part of your story, whether they have a name you recognize or not.

Plus, Animal Services is now offering a special. Adopt a dog for $35 or a cat for $25 Thursday through Sunday.

The County’s two shelters are open 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Tuesday through Sundays except for holidays. Stop by to meet these comically named pets in person or visit sddac.com.
