A dozen smiling dogs with wildly wagging tails led by Navy officers headed out to a Bonita trail for some exercise and fun Friday. This community service gives dogs a break from the shelter environment and lets them really stretch their legs. At the same time, it also helps advertise the foster program and adoption in the community. With kitten season underway, the San Diego County Department of Animal Services is reminding people not to be a “kitnapper.” That means if you encounter an unattended kitten litter in your community, don’t be so quick to scoop them up and bring them to a shelter.
