Time is running out to appeal the tax assessed to your property.

You have two weeks left to file a protest concerning your 2011-2012 property tax assessments.

Fill out an application and bring it no later than 5 p.m. on Nov. 30 to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors Office, 1600 Pacific Highway, Room 402, San Diego, CA 92101.

Another option is to mail it to the same address, but it must be postmarked by midnight of that date.

The regular filing period for an appeals application for your 2011-2012 property assessment is July 2 to Nov. 30.

The applications are free and easy to complete and can be obtained on the County Clerk of the Board website. If you prefer to visit the office, Clerk of the Board staff are available to answer questions and provide an application and information booklet.

You must provide your parcel number or tax bill number, as well as the property address. Your opinion of the property’s market value must be stated on the application.

An informational video is available online. It explains the assessment appeals process and provides helpful tips. The video can be viewed on the County’s YouTube page.

For additional information on the assessment appeals process, contact the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors Office at (619) 531-5777.
