County Animal Services’ Coordinator of Volunteer and Public Service Rachael Borrelli was recognized for her work with TRACE Alternative School. Borelli was given the school’s Jan Merritt Leadership Award, which goes to individuals who use creativity and innovation to support students with disabilities.

County Honors Its Volunteers

It takes a special person to give the gift of time and the County of San Diego is lucky enough to have nearly 5,000 of them. Their contribution is so great, more than $16 million worth of County volunteer services went to the region’s residents this past year. The Board of Supervisors honored these volunteers prior to its regular board meeting on Tuesday.
