A dozen smiling dogs with wildly wagging tails led by Navy officers headed out to a Bonita trail for some exercise and fun Friday. This community service gives dogs a break from the shelter environment and lets them really stretch their legs. At the same time, it also helps advertise the foster program and adoption in the community. The number of San Diego deaths by suicide continue to decline for the fourth year in a row, according to a new annual report by the San Diego County Suicide Prevention Council. Suicides decreased from a high of 465 in 2018 down to 364 in 2021.
